Inspired by... cups?!

I'm participating in this week's Inspired By... challenge and this time my inspiration in the photo came from the stacked cups.

The color of the stacked cups inspired the background, while the other colors inspired the paper I used to paper piece my stacked bowls. This is another fantastic Unity stamp from a previous Kit of the Month. This is the first time I have been inspired to use this stamp. It doesn't really fit my style of cardmaking, but it's perfect for this challenge!

I used glossy accents to give the bowls some depth and texture. It caused the thin patterned paper to buckle a bit. I'm not sure if it's because of the adhesive I used (clear Elmer's craft bond glue) or that I applied the glossy accents before the glue had set. Either way, it's a learning experience!

This week the challenge winner snags a $25 gift card to Sugar Pea Designs and the challenge is almost up - create and enter for a chance to win goodies!! Thanks for visiting!

Inspired by camping!

I saw this week's Inspired By... Challenge and immediately knew which stamps I wanted to use to make my card.

All of my camping experiences have been in tents, but I think the sentiment still applies. I drew inspiration from both the colors and the camper from the challenge. I'm enjoying the challenges and can't wait to see what next week brings!

June catch up post!

First thing first: I won last week's Inspired By... Challenge!!

Next up, I have a bunch of cards to share! I've already shared these on Instagram and Facebook. Eventually I'll get around to making the blog post first. Small steps!

Sassy fairy godmothers are the best fairy godmothers:

I played with texture paste and stencils. I liked this one best. I'll probably leave it as-is and add a sentiment when I mail it.

I made my own card bases! They may not be perfect but I've been using them... almost time to make more!

Lastly, Unity's Show & Tell Group's current challenge is to create clean and simple cards. These are my entries. I used a rectangular acrylic block and distress inks to ink smoosh in a specific area, waited for the results to dry, then stamped the images and sentiments in black.

Whew! I'll try to stay caught up. Now to work on this week's Inspired By... Challenge!
