Growing in Unity Day 2: Really...

When I saw Really...Kitty? release this January, I had to have it! I love animals and this kitty has an expression and pose that most cat owners will recognize. The sentiment matches the cattitude perfectly!

I embossed the kitty and used my distress inks to watercolor select areas. I used a bright paper pad to give the cards some excitement, used a pawprint border punch to add a bit of detail, and then I die cut the frame for my sentiment.

I saw the feather dies I haven't used yet (am I the only one who tends to shop the clearance shelves and ends up with a bunch of stuff that hasn't found a purpose yet?) and figured it would be a cute touch to reinforce the sentiment. No birds were harmed in the making of this card!

Lastly I used distress inks to add color to the sentiment and feathers. I like the way these came out--silly and cheerful. I can't wait to experiment with coloring kitty in the future, but the white really pops on this card.

That's it for my second day! I hope you enjoyed the kitties and don't forget to comment for a chance to win a Unity grab bag at the end of the week! You should also check out the veteran Growing in Unity gal posting alongside me this week, Cynthia!
